Located in Houston, Texas with more than 60 years of combined experience, Munoz + Albin is exclusively a design studio with a diverse project portfolio.
During the initial years of practice, Munoz + Albin worked overseas, principally in Europe, although primarily for American clients such as Hines. In the years following, the firm transitioned to the American market and concentrated its efforts stateside – bringing with them an ability to see and resolve spatial challenges, urban design issues, and planning problems from a multicultural perspective.
Today the practice continues to grow. Munoz + Albin is designing projects both domestically and internationally spanning nine countries. Our architectural practice rests on a foundation of experience, creativity and proven success. Our designs are not only the result of inspiration and originality, but also the understanding of the evolving marketplace of design. Our ability to maintain strong relationships with Architects of Record and consultants allows us to seamlessly deliver projects on time and within budget.
Munoz + Albin collaborates closely with clients and consultants to translate their vision and needs into buildings and spaces of memorable character and spirit. We take pride in creating imaginative solutions, always seeking a high sense of aesthetics, and responding to site influences in a responsible and sustainable way. We invest significant time on the creative process for customized design, resulting in a one-of-a-kind architectural solution for each building’s unique program, market and urban context.

Jorge Muñoz, AIA, NCARB
Principal
At the start of his career, Jorge Munoz worked with two large commercial firms in the city of Houston where he was the Design Associate in charge of key city government buildings, as well as hotels and office buildings. With ten years of experience, he served as Head of Design for an international A&E practice. In 1991, Jorge opened the Barcelona office for a Houston-based firm and started their mixed-use practice. In early 2000, he joined Enrique Albin to launch a design studio based in Houston with offices in Barcelona and Mexico City. Since then, Jorge and Enrique’s leadership have transformed Munoz + Albin Architecture & Planning into a full studio with projects in nine countries. Their work includes significant contributions and accolades in the creation of urban spaces of unique character with one-of-a-kind architectural solutions.

Enrique Albin, AAIA
Principal
Enrique Albin has a broad range of experience in the design, development and construction of small, medium and large-scale architectural and urban projects. Prior to forming Munoz + Albin, Enrique founded the firm Albin y Norten Arquitectos in 1981, and was involved in several commercial and residential projects, as well as various international competitions with an emphasis on quality, high end design. In 1985, he founded the firm Albin Vasconcelos Elizondo Arquitectos (AVE Arquitectos) in Mexico City. The firm was established as a design-build firm with a special emphasis on high quality architectural design. The scope of work of the firm included large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, as well as government and community projects. In 2000, Enrique opened his own firm in Houston with Jorge Munoz and is currently involved in several international commercial projects.
